Composition: Each gram of Bepanthen Plus Cream contains 50 mg Dexpanthenol and 5 mg chlorhexidine- dihydrochloride. Indications: Use Bepanthen Plus for the following: any type of minor wound at risk of infection, including abrasions, small cuts and scratches, fissures, mild burns, sores, infected skin irritations, cracked nipples during breast feeding, on medical prescription only: chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers
(pressure sores) and operation wounds. Contraindications: You should not use Bepanthen Plus any longer if an allergic reaction occurs. Do not use Bepanthen Plus in the ear if your eardrum is damaged. Bepanthen Plus should not be used on serious, deep or highly contaminated wounds. Such wounds require medical attention. Warnings and precautions: Large, severely contaminated or deep wounds and bites and stings require proper medical treatment (risk of tetanus). A doctor should also be consulted if the wound fails to decrease in size over time or has not healed over after 10–14 days. The same applies if the wound margins are very inflamed, the wound suddenly enlarges, is very painful or is accompanied by fever (risk of septicemia). If the skin is not broken but simply irritated (sunburn, tender areas, inflamed skin areas), the risk of infection is negligible. In such cases, instead of the antiseptic Bepanthen Plus, you should apply the cooling Bepanthen Cream which contains no antiseptic. Do not allow Bepanthen Plus to come into contact with the eyes. Bepanthen Plus should not be ingested. Seek medical advice if fairly large quantities are swallowed inadvertently. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are suffering from any other illness, have any allergies, are taking or applying any other medication (including non-prescription products). Although Bepanthen Plus may be used during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding, you should not apply it over a large surface area.
